We anchored off Porto Belo, Brazil under overcast skies. There were only 2 excursions, neither of which interested us, so we waited until after lunch to ride the tender to shore. Porto Belo is a small & quaint vacation village with resorts nearby. Beautiful beaches, snorkeling & diving are the main attractions. There isn't much to see in the town and within 1 1/2 hours we had walked the streets and the most interesting building was the grocery store. The grocery had really great butcher and produce sections and I bought a can of a German style pilsner to drink as we walked back to the pier. The restaurants were mostly pizza & sandwich shops. but one bar / cafe at the beach by the pier seemed to offer good seafood, as we'll try in on our visit as we return northward in a couple of weeks. Before dinner there was a party in the theater for Titanium, Platinum & Gold cruisers (based on number of nights sailed on Regent) where fois gras and shrimp were being cooked and served along with wine & cocktails. The headliner pianist played a new wave classical piece for us. Our scheduled departure was at 11:00pm, but was delayed until 2:00am due to a medical evacuation by tender.
