We were scheduled to anchor in Sorrento where we had booked an excursion to Capri. The harbor master advised the Captain that the swells were too high for safe tendering so we went to Naples instead. We used to live in Naples, Florida and other than the same names, not much else is alike. We took a tour of historic Naples including a scenic drive up the mountainside for a scenic overlook. There was mid street construction for a subway system but work had stopped due to ancient ruins being uncovered. It's been that way for 10 years. The streets were a bit dirty and overcrowded with illegally double parked cars. Italian drivers are aggressive and don't like to stop for pedestrians in crosswalks.
Captain Stan had his wife Liliana and 2 daughters onboard and before dinner Wolfgang, Cheryl, Pat & I had cocktails with Stan & Liliana.
